Disappointed and scared

I have enjoyed OneDrive on Mac previously. Recently it updated by itself and now continuously crashes, leaving me unable to use my files. Cannot even open the application which says: “OneDrive quit unexpectedly.”
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no success. Millions are using and relying on this for their everyday job - now millions are wasting time trying to fix it with no positive results.
I made a backup of my current OneDrive files - I’m scared it will soon be deleted without me knowing.
We need a fix ASAP, please Microsoft.
