Sync is buggy, YOU MAY LOSE WORK

I just almost lost 4 hours of work, but I was able to recover using the Office online version history. I opened a OneDrive PPT file through a browser to edit in PowerPoint installed on my Mac. This file had previously synced to my Mac OneDrive folder. I made some edits, saved up to the cloud, closed Powerpoint. OneDrive was running on my Mac so I assumed all changes would naturally be synced to the same local file but minutes later I opened the local file and noticed that 10 pages were missing! I went to OneDrive online and see that the online version had now also been replaced by this old local version. Panic ensued. Deleting this app before it causes irreparable damage.

Works okay, but don’t expect support when there’s a problem

Had a small issue that should be easy to fix, but OneDrive support told me they didn’t have the Mac expertise to fix it, so I need to contact Apple. Yeah, right. Apple is going to help fix a OneDrive problem!?

Sometimes works, sometimes doesnt

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m looking for in a cloud storage system I use for work. I mean, I used to use Dropbox, which had the unfortunate bug of always syncing my data. But since switching to OneDrive, I now have a much requested feature-never knowing when I leave the office for the night whether my data actually synced. Please, Microsoft, improve on this. I’d love to see more features, like deleting date, corrupting data, etc. I might even pay MORE for LESS reliable syncing. The point? MY DATA STOPPED SYNCING CORRECTLY. Seriously, OneDrive has like ONE JOB. Sync data. Somehow you can no longer do that.

Worked fine after relinking my account

I don’t have a complex setup, only a single business account. I had issues with syncing after the update, but after re-linking my account, everything is working fine. Not overly impressed that I had to step in and re-link, then do some cleanup, but the important thing is that the process does work now.

Not Updating

It will not allow me to update to the most recent version, my icon just spins.

Doesn’t work at all

Installs but does nothing but allows a quit option. Microsoft has never had stability with its OneDrive product. This has been the case on all platforms that we have tried to use over the past year. Even with an Office365 account, we opt to pay for Dropbox which is reliable even if not perfect. OneDrive usually runs like a beta program. Advice is to avoid at all costs since data is too important to play with…something Microsoft hasn’t figured out yet.

Abysmal support mysteriious errors

OneDrive continually gets into either “scanning” or “processing” stuck state. Perusing through the Microsoft Forums, the posts are prevalent, but the help is void. Clearly the OneDrive team is still floundering with this app. Wish they’d toss in the hat.

Terrible cloud software and not support casesensitive HFS+

Always need to login and set it up again when starting up system.

Missing absolutly needed option

STILL can not put OneDrive folder on SD card in 13” Macbook Pro Retina. If you need to save space on your primary drive and use cloud storage, DropBox or Google Drive seem to be the ticket still...

Save Your Time = Money

This app doesn’t work! No Stars, I only gave it 1 because I had to…. I changed files at home and came to work and says “Updated a Moment Ago” but nothing changed… all my files are the same as it was like 3 days ago even though I’ve been changing files. Definietly do NOT like the approach Windows is taking where they neglect people on other Operating Systems…yet they want to charge you the same as a Windows user…BS I say…give a discount for the less features that you have for your Software. Sure I love 1tb of OneDrive but if it WORKED!!! I did the $2.99 plan and then I upgraded to the $6.99 plan and still no luck! DO NOT DOWNLOAD YOU WILL REGRET

Moving to Dropbox

I really did try, but after having the sync repeatedly fail and a few weeks ago it decided what files would selectively and it removed 42gb from my main device I am moving on. I get 10 TB free with my 360 account, but I just now signed up for a TB from Dropbox and will be moving everything there once I get that 42bg back on this device.

Useless

Won’t let me install my OneDrive folder anywhere - completely useless. Says "folder can’t be installed in that location” no matter where I try to install it. No better with 4/24/16 update. My drive is not case-sensitive. May be due to my employer using a hyphen in the OneDrive name, but if MS allows it on PC then why doesn’t the Mac installer work? Mordac rides again...

Mostly works, meaning it’s USELESS as a Backup Service

I switched to this service from Copy.com, which sadly went out of business today. While their service was amazing, the business model wasnt. I LOVED copy and it worked flawlessly. My only experience thus far with OneDrive (from huge company Microsoft) has been very disappointing. It’s a useless service. It synced some files, but informs me there are over 2 THOUSAND “problems with (my) OneDrive”. If a backup service can’t backup even ONE file, let alone thousands, it’s useless. Just a glitch…right? Easy fix, I assumed. But it won’t resolve itself. When I click “View Details”, the wheel spins and spins, and essentially freezes my Macbook. After over 10 mins, it sometimes (have tried this multiple times, restarting computer, etc) shows the window where the problems are intended to appear, but the problems never display, so I don’t know what to do to resolve. Furthermore, I never had issues with Copy.com, which tells me there are problems with the way it functions in general. I haven’t used Microsoft products in years, as I considered them sub-par. When I finally thought I’d give them a chance…they give me this. Ciao, Microsoft. Maybe I’ll see you in another 10-15 years.

Excluding Folders

Hi. I’ve tested the new version OneDrive for Business in Mac and it works fine. But If I wanted to exclude some folder from sync process it’s currently not working. I’d like you guys check it out. Thanks.

Not useful on a mac

I’ve been trying to sync my files to OneDrive. The problem is this follows Microsoft’s outdated file naming convention. It has problems syncing my files which, of course, are named according to Apple’s convention which allows me to use spaces in file names, so I have been unable to complete a single sync. In the previous version I would get an error message and a dialogue box to terminate the process. This one just stops responding. Just updated in case Microsoft saw fit to address my issue, but I guess not. I’m not going to rename all my files just to use OneDrive.

How about SharePoint Libs?

Still no SharePoint libraries? Can’t claim *Boom* when you are enabling a feature that i had 3 months ago from googling for 5 mins. How about making it similar to a PC?

OneDrive for Business Crashes

Can not access OneDrive for Business account. Continually receive “There was a problem connecting to OneDrive” when trying to add my OD4B account. It amazes me that Microsoft cannot make a working OneDrive app.

Completely broken.

After I put in my email address the app just crashes. So I really have no idea if this is a good app or not as I can’t even log into my account.

Finally!

Finally a version that appears to behave well with OS X 10.11 (I’m running 10.11.5 beta 1) and do its job! Been a while but I’m feeling some glow...

Unable to get the school or business capability working

After installing I selected to connect to school or business. The login doesn’t work. I am having this problem on my macbook pro but it does work on my mac mini. I’ve disabbled firewall and antivirus but not luck still. Makes me sick when software wont even install correctly but somehow it was accepted by apple???
