Can’t connect any longer to my OneDrive for business. Trying to re-apply all the manual steps documented on the “Get Started with OneDrive for Business Next Generation Sync Client on Mac OS X” help page… We’ll see...
This app crashes every time i try to log in. after the Microsoft Help Desk technician failed to fix it, he claimed the problem is with OS X and not the app itself (something to do with a corruption in the drive), in essence, it is impossible for the app to work until Apple issues an update that fixes the problem. he then said he can only try to fix it if i have an Office 365 subscribtion, which i won’t get until i see the app is working properly.
Previous version (Pre-Release) worked perfectly while linked to my organizations O365 account. This new version fails. When attempting, it tries to redirect to my companies SSO service (same as last version) but with this version, it just fails. Options are retry (which perpetually fails) or Quit OneDrive. I wish I hadn’t upgraded to the release version. It is broken!!
The app does not work at all now and I subscribe to Office 365. It will not load or update on my OS 10.11.4, late 2013 Macbook Pro.
The most recent update is horrible. It deemed an otherwise useful app useless. I can’t connect my personal account nor my business account. When attempting the personal account, the app crashes. When attempting the business account, I get an error stating onedrive couldn’t be reached. Open a support ticket with Microsoft and I get the obligatory “Remove and Re-install the app” BS. Of course we know that doesn’t work. Extremely frustrating. Get your crap together Microsoft and issue a fix.
... since todays update, OneDrive crashes everytime I launch it - leaving me with no access to my documents. Desaster! Time to switch back to Dropbox.
Caused me to lose a days work because of the terrible syncing. For whatever reason, it decided to replace files I was actively working on with yesterdays versions. Xcode detected it and offered to "save anyway", which I selected. Xcode crashed, and I reopened it to find that all my work was "restored" to yesterdays state.
Tried installing to sync OneDrive for Business files. Changing accounts, then entering by business creditials does not try to redirect as expected but just says “There is a problem with account or password.” This is the first time I’ve really tried to use OneDrive, but the experience just makes me wonder why anyone would want to use anything other than Google Drive.
My personal one drive kept working, but the business onedrive will not connect like many others are exepriencing. Completely uninstalling, removing the local cache and starting over did not solve the problem. Even when starting clean I tried to connect to only my business onedrive with the same error. Lastly, even though I have the latest version installed the app store shows “update” when I view the onedrive app, and when I click on that the spinning wheel pops up and never stops. Microsoft please fix these issues.
The latest update broke the application. It is now deleting my files by itself and crashes constantly. This is terrible.
Been using OneDrive for a long time without issues. The latest version is unusable. Not only is it unusable, it managed to completely wipe the local data on my iMac. Thank goodness I have Time Machine backups. The data is still in the cloud, but since the app continually crashes, I couldn’t sync it bac to my Mac… Hope they fix this soon.
2016-04-15 — This is all on Personal OneDrive with 365 University sub. yestereday I happened to open the drop down and was shocked to see aoubt 6,000+ files needed synced. I had changed nothing. The it would freeze when trying to “view details” I have redownloaded app, tossed preferences and now I can not log into OneDrive without it crashing repeatedly. Please fix.
I have enjoyed OneDrive on Mac previously. Recently it updated by itself and now continuously crashes, leaving me unable to use my files. Cannot even open the application which says: “OneDrive quit unexpectedly.” I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no success. Millions are using and relying on this for their everyday job - now millions are wasting time trying to fix it with no positive results. I made a backup of my current OneDrive files - I’m scared it will soon be deleted without me knowing. We need a fix ASAP, please Microsoft.
I absolutely loved Onedrive until this most recent update. With my Office 360 I had almost unlimited storage and it synced perfectly. Now, not so much. I’ve got hundreds of errors showing up. It seems Onedrvie started uploading all my files again, and the errors show duplicate files already existing. When I clicked on “view details” it brought up 3 errors but I could not scroll and the box ran off the side of my screen, FOREVER. Also, asking for details caused the app to crash. This app is now useless.
Everytime I launch the application it crashes. I’ve uninstalled it; I’ve removed all the /library files, but everytime it begins syncing it crashes. I use this for school so I can start work on one computer and finish on another.
OneDrive for Business has gotten worse since updating to the latest version. The Business account quits for no reason or maybe there’s a reason but I don’t what it is. Still not complete comaptibility. Valid Mac filenames cause errors when trying to sync. No easy way to get rid of a bad business account. still need to use the terminal to add business account. no way to only use business account. overall it’s a mess.
I can’t get it to sign in at all. Also shows that there is an update in the mac store, but it just spins.
Every release OneDrive for Business on a Mac breaks. Save yourself the suffering. The quality control on the Office365 family of applications for Mac is questionable at best, but OneDrive is by far the worst of the bunch. I have yet to see OneDrive operate without a stupid problem. From silly file name issues to this releases issue of being unable to authenticate to Microsoft’s own services, OneDrive is plagued by obvious issues that should have been picked up during a routine QA check. Sloppy coding and sloppy QA results in a sloppy and unreliable product. I would recommend NOT depending on OneDrive to do what Box, DropBox, Google Drive, iCloud Drive, and other cloud storage services do well for business — actually work in a reliable manner. Microsoft doesn’t get cloud — success is built on trust. OneDrive is not helping build that trust.
This app is finnicky. I just reinstalled OS X El Capitan clean, started a new account and reinstalled this. However, I closed it after I chose a location (that window where it shows the button “Open my OneDrive Folder” then it crashed. After that it would no reopen. Deleting the application folder and its associates in the Users/UserName/Library/Containers folder did not seem to help when I reinstalled it. Something was still wrong. I tried a new user account, and this time just let that last window sit there after checking open at login and hitting open my one drive folder. It evenetually disappeared and things seem to be working now (after 2 hours of troubleshooting). A user should have this much stress doing this… I almost jumped ship to another service.
